Watch Dogs: Legion delay will let Ubisoft prime it for a next-gen release - reidfuldn1960
Ubisoft has chosen to stay three of its most-expected titles, Gods & Monsters, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Rainbow Sise Quarantine, due to 'unsatisfying' sales statistics from The Division 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint (via VGC).
In the developer and publisher's fiscal report, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot aforementioned that the three games birth been delayed as a result of The Division 2's and Ghost Recon Breakpoint's poor execution at retail. Breakpoint's 'critical reception and gross revenue during the game's first weeks were very unsatisfying', and per se, Ubisoft has changed its course.
In addition, Guillemot deep-rooted that the change was not to obviate competitors' release dates as every company's stage business strategies are 'in flux and evolving' for assorted reasons. 'We need to make positive that every our upcoming productions welfare from enough development time. This has been our strategy for many days and it has established very effective,' he explained. 'This situation is telling us we can't make exceptions. This is even more true when we bring new innovations that require complex optimisations.'
And, Ubisoft has said that Roller Champions and ii triple-A titles from its 'biggest franchises' testament follow free in the next financial year. Although people will be waiting a little longer for these games, delays only stand for good things for the projects. The evolution team up have overtime to finish and polish the games to the highest quality possible, and then there's less stress placed on the employees. The Last of Us Part II has as wel been delayed aside Sony and Naughty Dog ready that they can deliver a game that exceeds fans' expectations.
